PARTICIPANT GUIDELINES

1. Kenosha’s Got Talent is open to individuals ages 12 and older who live or work in Kenosha County. Employees of the organizing agencies (Kenosha Creative Space, Downtown Kenosha Inc, Youth As Resources/United Way of Kenosha County), their family members or anyone else connected in any way with the competition shall not be permitted to enter the competition.

2. Professional entertainers are not eligible; that is anyone whose primary livelihood is derived from the type of performance.

3. All interested persons must complete the online registration form accessible at www.kenoshasgottalent.com Parent/guardian must complete/sign the form if participant is under 18 years of age. Upon completion of the registration form, you will be sent an release of liability form/waiver that must be on file before you are assigned a timeslot.

4. Participants are responsible for being prepared to “hit the stage” at their prescribed time. In the occasion that a participant is unable to attend the event after participant has been assigned a time slot, participant is required to notify organizers by phone, e-mail or may be disqualified from future qualifying rounds.

5. Closing date for entry into the competition is Wednesday, February 21, 2017. After this date no further entries will be accepted.

6. Participant acts may not include any offensive language, costumes or antics, including but not limited to, profanity, racial slurs, sexual innuendo, sexist comments or violence. All routines, music, choreography and costumes must be suitable for family viewing. Organizers reserve the right to deduct points, disallow, or disqualify any act for any reason.

7. Participants must wear appropriate attire (see #6 above), clothing, costumes and gear at all times during the live audition, rehearsal and stage performance. Appropriateness shall be determined by the judges who have authority to disqualify participants for non-compliance.

8. Each act will be limited to a maximum of 5 minutes. Points will be deducted from your score if your act exceeds stated time allotment.

9. Participants are responsible for their own props and costumes. Only props that can be carried on and off by the performer and do not require extensive set-up are allowed. The use of dangerous equipment and live animals are prohibited.

10. Participants will perform on an outdoor or indoor stage. Participants should be prepared to enter and exit the performance area quickly to keep the show flowing. Therefore, plan ahead with any ‘setup/tear-down’ that the performance might require.

11. Organizers are not responsible for theft, damage or injury of any kind, to persons or instruments, props, clothing, etc., during, before, or after the performance. The completed Release of Liability Waiver Form must be on record (sent to you after registration is complete)..

12. Teachers and/or parents are not permitted to coach students during the actual performance.

13. The decisions of the judges will be final and reflect professional expertise. Qualifying participants will be announced at the event/on the day of the event. The judge’s decisions, in respect of all matters to do with the competition, will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

14. Participation in this event indicates approval to use any photo and/or video images taken during the event in future marketing/promotional materials. Participants agree to allow the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material including social media. Any personal data relating to the qualifying participants will be used solely in accordance with current data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without prior consent on the part of the participant.

15. Participants are required to bring their accompanying music on a smartphone, tablet or other device to be plugged in via an auxiliary cord that the participant also supplies. Music files may be requested in advance. Organizers will not accept music that requires streaming from the internet.

16. Qualifying participants will be selected from the pool of participants to compete in the Spring 2018 Kenosha’s Got Talent Fundraiser.

DISCLAIMER: The organizers of this event are Kenosha Creative Space, Youth As Resources, a program of United Way of Kenosha County and Kenosha County UW-Extension. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition. The organizers reserve the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice. In the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the organizers control, these guidelines are subject to change. Any changes to the competition will be notified to participants as soon as possible by the organizers. The organizers are not affiliated with any third party connected with this competition. No cash or prizes will be awarded to qualified participants. This event is in no way connected to/affiliated with America’s Got Talent.
By entering this competition, the participant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these guidelines.
